In true rock ‘n roll style DVA’s musical director Al Collingwood left school aged 17 to start a musical theatre group. That year he won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival and has worked with DVA since then. With engineer Steve Longman he has written and produced music for C5 hit ‘Cosmetic Surgery Live!’, C4’s ‘How Clean Is Your House?’,‘Too Posh to Wash’ (C4) and ‘Honey I Ruined The House’ (C4) and recently C5’s Killer Shark Live!

Comedy credits include; ‘Mad About Alice’ (BBC ONE), ‘French and Saunders Comedy Zone’ (BBC TWO), ‘The Stand Up Show’ (BBC ONE) and ‘Rhona’ (BBC TWO)

Documentaries include; Streets of Shame (C5), Ultimate Questions (ITV1), When Pilots Eject (Learning Channel/C5), Above and Beyond (Meridian) and Microlight Odyssey (National Geographic)

Commercials include a cinema ad for the Federation Against Copyright Theft and numerous TV spots for Babyliss Hair Products, American Snackfoods, D.E.R TV rental, TaylorMade golf clubs, Harlequin Windows and the Wall Street Journal.

He has two albums of library music with De Wolfe Music.

Al has been seen moonlighting in comedy double acts with both Jackie Clune and Geraldine McNulty and he currently writes and sings with dance act Mashup who are signed to the Plastic Fantastic label.
